[1] TCK-0433: ERP test migration fails on variant BOMs · Problem
The second test migration into NovaERP stopped at the bill of materials (BOM) import. 1'214 of 3'870 BOMs failed. All failed BOMs are variant BOMs that were copied by hand in BW-Classic between 2009 and 2015; many point to parts that no longer exist.

[2] TCK-0433: ERP test migration fails on variant BOMs · Workaround
Reto Ammann skipped the failed BOMs to test the rest of the import. Finance and purchasing data imported cleanly. Decision: Clean up the legacy variant BOMs in BW-Classic before the migration instead of migrating them as they are. Why: about a third of the variant BOMs point to parts that no longer exist; migrating them would copy the mess into NovaERP.

[3] Decision memo: new ERP go-live date · Situation
The plan was to go live with NovaERP on 01.12.2026. Three things make that risky: • The clean-up of variant BOMs (see TCK-0433) is only half done. • December has the year-end closing and the yearly stock count; finance cannot test the new system at the same time. • The Line 3 retrofit ties up the production key users until mid-November.

[5] ERP migration kick-off · Options discussed
• Upgrade BW-Classic: cheapest in the short term, but the developer risk stays. • NovaERP (cloud, Swiss data centre): standard production module, bills of materials (BOM) with variants, Swiss VAT and payroll. • Two other vendors were too expensive for a company of our size.
