#### Background
See the supplier review of 15.06.2026. The trial delivery from Stahl Nord arrived on 28.07.2026. Thomas Huber tested it: all bars within tolerance, 3.1 certificates complete.

#### Cost per year (about 180 tonnes)
- Acier Léman from 2027: CHF 742'000, plus about CHF 35'000 for late deliveries (weekend shifts, express freight).
- Stahl Nord: CHF 701'000 including freight.

#### Decision
Decision: Switch our main steel supplier from Acier Léman to Stahl Nord from 01.01.2027.
Why: Stahl Nord is about CHF 76'000 a year cheaper once the cost of late deliveries is counted.
Why: Stahl Nord delivers in 5 days and sends the 3.1 material certificate with every delivery; Acier Léman was late on 9 of 22 deliveries and twice delivered without certificates.

Decision: Keep Acier Léman as a backup supplier for stainless 1.4404 only, with a small yearly volume.
Why: we do not want to depend on a single steel supplier for medical-grade stainless.
