#### Problem
Quality found chatter marks on 14 titanium bone screws (order 26-1187). The marks come from spindle 2 on Line 3, which vibrates above 9'000 rpm.

#### Analysis
Nina Frei ran the spindle at 6'000, 9'000 and 12'000 rpm and measured with the hand-held vibration meter. Reading at 12'000 rpm: 4.8 mm/s (limit 2.8 mm/s). Cause: a worn front bearing on spindle 2.

#### Fix
- Bearing replaced by Nina Frei and the Aarmatic service technician on 21.05.2026.
- Spindle calibrated again with the reference mandrel; runout 2 µm after the fix.
- The 14 parts were scrapped; the customer was not affected.

Decided: Replace the bearings on all four spindles of Line 3 during the retrofit window, not one by one when they fail.
Why: spindles 1, 3 and 4 have the same running hours as spindle 2.
